Verizon: Launch 5G smartphone thanks to an add-on

Verizon is number one in the USA with 33% market share

In order to be first to launch mobile 5G in the world or at least in the USA, Verizon uses an add-on accessory to gain a few weeks before integrated 5G smartphone like Samsung
Galaxy S10 5G will arrive.

Verizon has confirmed April 4th the start of its 5G mobile service, in parts of Minneapolis and Chicago. The launchcame a week ahead of schedule. Customers can access the service with the new 5G mod for the Moto Z3smartphone and receive speeds of up to 1 Gbps. The Moto Z3 is a modular smartphone (camera, etc).
Verizon is offering the Moto mod (exclusively) , which snaps on the Z3 like a case, at USD 199.99 (€177) at launch, compared to a standard retail price of USD 349.99.

The 5G was only USD 50 in a special introductory offer during the pre-sale period (mid-march).
Verizon’s 5G mobile service will be unlimited with no data de-prioritization and cost an extra $10 per month (€8,86)—with the first three months free—on top of its
existing unlimited 4G plans including Verizon Go Unlimited ($75/month), Beyond Unlimited ($85) and Above Unlimited($95).
The operator plans to launch more 5G devices
